STAR WATCH
Green Spinning Star
The future of this planet is in sustainable developement

History bears witness to the rise and fall of the civilizations, some declines have been very rapid while others are spread over the centuries. We do not intend to go into the causes and the nature of the decline but in most cases the human beings have been instrumental in the decline. The question we are focussing here is "are we a declining civilization?"
The green star keeps an eye on some of the issues, vital for the sustainable developement of this planet and future generations of all living beings.
This issue of Green Star Watch focuses on the culture of wastage. our aim is to draw the attention of those who think and care.

The world's forests declined from 4.4 sq. miles per 1000 people to 2.8 sq. miles per 1000 people during the last 30 years.

1/4 of the world's fish stocks depleted or in danger of being depleted.

2 in every 3 persons across the world are likely to face water shortage.

The shrinking of Lake Chad, dying out of the Aral sea and the acute shortage of water in urban settlements across the world speak volumes of the neglect and careless attitude of the human beings.

The use of underground water at unsustainable rates in many countries may exhaust the reserves for future generations.
